Bandits attack police camp, kill three cops

No fewer than three police officers have been killed, while two others are injured after suspected terrorists attacked a Police Mobile Force (PMF)camp .

The attack took place in Tenebo community, in the Kaiama Local Government Area of Kwara State.

The attack, which occurred in the early hours of Saturday, caused panic in the agrarian community as residents fled in different directions for safety.

Sources said the assailants launched the  surprise attack while the cops were caught unaware.

The officers on duty were overpowered  and three of them were killed, while two were injured.

A resident, Suleiman Issa, said, “The attack happened at the early hours of Saturday in Tenebo village, Kaiama.

“Bandits came in large number and invaded the village, people were killed and some were wounded”.

The state PPRO, Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, confirmed the incident, saying, “I regret to confirm that an attack on the PMF Camp occurred in the early hours of today. I will detailed information shortly. Thank you”.
