Nigerian chef, Damilola Adeparusi, has said she will challenge the Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon by an individual.

Last week, Adeparusi embarked on a 120-hour cooking marathon.

She completed the task on Wednesday.

She has become a viral sensation since then — with her personal feat attracting a wave of diverse reactions on social media.

Damilola, while reacting to criticism trailing her feat, earlier argued she did not embark on the cooking journey to dethrone Hilda Baci, the newly certified GWR holder.

She added that it was not registered with the GWR.

But in a new development, Adeparusi said she will be notifying the GWR about her bid to cook for 150 hours.

Speaking at a briefing, the Ekiti-based chef said the new challenge will take place next month.

“I Adeparusi Damilola, popularly known as Chef Dammy and my team have decided to hold another cook-a-thon next month.

“This time it will be held for 150 hours and it will be duly registered with Guinness World Records. Chef Dammy is coming back,” she said in a video shared on her Twitter page.

Theeditorial.ng had reported how Baci, the Akwa-Ibom native, set a new world record for the longest cooking marathon by an individual in May.

She cooked for 100 hours to beat the 87 hours 45 minutes record set by Lata Tondon, the Indian chef, in 2019.
