The Ondo State Government has said workers and students in the state will be permitted to wear native attire to offices and schools on Fridays.

The government noted that the directive was aimed at promoting cultures and traditions.

The state Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Mrs Bamidele Ademola-Olateju, said this after the State Executive Council meeting on Tuesday.

She said, “The council decided that from now on, workers in the state will be required to put on traditional clothes to work every Friday. And for students in the state, it is permissible from now on that they can wear traditional attires to school every Friday.”

Speaking on the development, the state Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Mr Adewale Akinlosotu, explained that the council decided that for the state to preserve the Yoruba culture, public workers and students would start wearing native attires to work and schools on Friday.
