Court clears Jonathan to contest 2023 presidential election

Justice Isa Hamma Dashen of the Federal High Court Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, has cleared ex President Goodluck Jonathan to contest the Presidential election in 2023.

The Judge ruled on Friday that the Jonathan was eligible to contest the 2023 presidential election.

The presiding judge, Justice Isa Hamma Dashen who delivered the judgement on Friday said that Jonathan has the right contest in the forthcoming election which cannot be taken away by any retroactive law.

Theeditorial.ng reports that the leadership of the APC is inclined to grant a waiver to the former President to contest.

As of the time of filing this report, the ex President was yet to make any public pronouncements on his move in the unfolding political situation.
