The Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, was officially recognised as the ‘Eleyi of Ogun State at the mega rally of the All Progressives Congress in Ekiti State.
Racall that the APC presidential flagbearer, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, had dismissively called Abiodun ‘Eleyi’ when he was expressing his frustration in Abeokuta,the capital of Ogun State, when he was campaigning to the state delegates on June 3, 2022,.
Then, it was believed that Abiodun and President Muhammadu Buhari were supporting the Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo.
Tinubu had said it was through his efforts that Buhari made it to Aso Rock after failing three times.
He also called Abiodun ‘Eleyi,’saying he was one of the products of his political hard work.
“This one ‘Eleyi’ (pointing at Abiodun behind him), Dapo; he wouldn’t have become governor without my support,” Tinubu had said.
The name had gone viral as people mischievously as ‘Eleyi.’
On Tuesday at the rally, the Ekiti State Governor, Kayode Fayemi, officially referred to Abiodun as the ‘Eleyi of Ogun State,’ when he introduce the Ogun governor to the party supporters.
Tinubu, labelled Biodun Oyebanji, the party’s candidate, as the ‘Emi Lokan of Ekiti’ who would perform beyond the expectation of his people.
After Fayemi’s hilarious jab, Abiodun was seen smiling with party leaders.
