Afrobeats star, Davido, has extended his multi-million dollar contract with Sony Music Entertainment.

In 2016, the music star signed a $1 million record deal with the music company in New York City.

He also took to Twitter to congratulate himself as the “first African artist to sign a global record deal”.

“1st African artist to sign a global record deal !! My story is just starting!! My mother is smiling in heaven right now!! @SonyMusicGlobal,” he had written.

In 2018, the singer, however, disclosed that he had to stop recording the type of songs Sony Music wanted because they did not align with him.

In a social media post on Friday, the ‘OBO’ crooner announced he has renewed his multi-million dollar contract with the prestigious US music company.

He also shared pictures of himself with representatives of Sony Music Entertainment and Bobo Ajudua, his legal adviser.

“I’m grateful to officially announce that I have extended my partnership with @sonymusic & @RCARecords, so we can keep bringing you more TIMELESS moments. We don’t stop, Dey for who dey for you,” he wrote.

Since he came to the limelight with his debut album ‘Omo Baba Olowo’ in 2o12, Davido has become a name to reckon with in the Nigerian music industry.
