Eko FM, Radio Lagos win big at BON Awards

Radio Lagos and Eko FM have emerged top winners at the prestigious The Nigeria Broadcasting Awards (TNBA) organised by the Broadcasting Organisation of Nigeria (BON).

The stations clinched trophies in six different categories.

The stations were recognised out of 248 entries submitted for excellence in News, programming, professionalism and true dedication to service, reaffirming their place as leaders in Nigeria’s radio broadcasting landscape.

The awards won spanned across categories — Radio Station of the Year; Best Radio Station – News (English Language); Best Radio Station – News (Indigenous Language), and Best Radio Station – Original Production In Business, Drama and Sports (English Language)

Others are Best Radio Station – Original Production In Business, Drama and Sports (Indigenous Language), Newscaster of the Year, Gbenga Alli-Balogun, and Reporter of the Year, Titi Adeaga

Receiving the awards on behalf of the stations, the General Manager, Radio Lagos/Eko FM, Jide Lawal expressed gratitude to the organisers for the recognition.

He said, “These awards would spur us and the teams to continue to work hard to sustain the tempo of excellence and professionalism the stations are known for.”

The General Manager lauded the Governor of Lagos State, Mr Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu for his vision, leadership and support which enabled the stations to excel and dedicated the awards to him.

He also commended the hardworking staff and loyal listeners.
