The Federal University Oye-Ekiti, Ekiti State, has dissociated itself from a viral admission slot form, asking admission seekers to pay N12,000 into registrar’s account.
In a statement by its spokesman, Foluso Ogunmode, FUOYE described the online slot form as the handiwork of scammers, warning students against becoming victims of scammers who wanted to defraud them.
The statement said FUOYE would not direct admission seekers to pay any fee into any personal account other than the university purse.
The statement titled, ‘Scammers at work,’ the universityaid said, the public should disregard the viral admission slot form which directed students to pay, fill and submit it to the registrar with N12,000 registration fee for approval, adding that such did not emanate from the office of the registrar of FUOYE.
The statement reads partly, “Our attention has been drawn to a form, tagged, ‘Kindly fill this admission slot form and submit it to the registrar with N12,000 registration fee for approval,’ which has gone viral. This did not emanate from the registrar but the handiwork of scammers who are desperate to defraud the public and the admission seekers. Please disregard it. It is a fraud as the university will never direct prospective students or the public to pay any fee into a private account or the registrar’s account.”
