The coronation of new British monarch, King Charles III, will be held on May 6, 2023.

The United Kingdom Royal Family disclosed this through a Twitter post on Tuesday.

The Buckingham Palace wrote, “The coronation of His Majesty The King will take place on Saturday 6 May 2023 at Westminster Abbey.

“The ceremony will see His Majesty King Charles III crowned alongside The Queen Consort.”

Also, a statement by the Royal Family Tuesday read, “Buckingham Palace is pleased to announce that the Coronation of His Majesty The King will take place on Saturday 6th May, 2023.

“The Coronation Ceremony will take place at Westminster Abbey, London, and will be conducted by the Archbishop of Canterbury.

“The Ceremony will see His Majesty King Charles III crowned alongside The Queen Consort.

“The Coronation will reflect the monarch’s role today and look towards the future, while being rooted in longstanding traditions and pageantry.”

Britain’s longest-serving monarch, Queen Elizabeth II, died in September at 96, ending a long reign of about 70 years.

The queen had been dogged by health challenges since last October.
