NAF pounds illegal oil refining sites in Rivers State

The Nigerian Air Force rained down massive fire power at the weekend to dislodge illegal oil refining sites in Rivers State.

The attack, code named ‘Operation Delta Safe’ marked the beginning of air interdiction missions on some illegal refining sites located at Cawthorne Channels, Bille and Gogokori in Degema Local Government Area of Rivers State

A statement by the spokesperson of the Nigerian Air Force, Air commodore Edward Gabkwet,’ said similar strikes were extended to Idama in the Akuku-Toru Local Government Area and Omoma in the Degema Local Government Area of Rivers State upon receipt of intelligence of refining activities at the 2 locations.

This is coming against the backdrop of on- going tour of the Niger-Delta Region by the Federal Government fact-finding team on oil theft led by the National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuru Ribadu.
