About 30 suspects have been arrested in the Sagamu area of Ogun State following the protests which broke out on Monday.

This came as the security agents led by the Commissioner of Police, Frank Mba, and military operatives stormed Sagamu to restore normalcy.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abimbola Oyeyemi, said the Sagamu area is now calm.

The PPRO said, “Complete normalcy has been restored in Sagamu, not less than 30 suspects have been arrested so far and they have been transferred to State Criminal Investigation Departments on the order of the Commissioner of Police CP Frank Mba.”

He added that combine team of policemen and military men were on the ground to monitor the situation.

Recall that the protesters had attacked three bank buildings in Sagamu and also torched some residential buildings to demonstrate against the Central Bank of Nigeria’s naira redesign programme.
