No resignation in my plan, says Pope Francis

Pope Francis has dispelled any rumour that he is getting ready to step down.

WION reports that at a gathering of more than a dozen Brazilian Catholic bishops on Wednesday, Pope Francis spoke about his health and his future goals for the church.

He declared that he would continue to serve as pope “as long as God allows.”

Reports had earlier indicated that the Papal was considering stepping down, but Pope Francis denied the resignation rumours and said resigning does not cross his mind. He said he would  continue as head of Catholic church.

He was reported to have earlier said he would not step down to his friends.

According to the Portuguese edition of the Vatican’s official news service, he reportedly told Archbishop Roque Palosch that resignation “does not cross his thoughts.”
