Nigeria has won its first gold medal at the ongoing 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, United Kingdom.
Weightlifter, Olarinoye Adijat, recorded this historic feat on Saturday evening.
Adijat won with a combined lift of 203 GR (92 GR + 111) in the Weightlifting category – Women’s 55 kg.
Bindyarani Sorokhaibam got silver with a lift of 202 kg (86 + 116 GR) while Fraer Morrow of England got bronze after she lifted 198 kg (89 + 109).
