The Nigeria Police Force has arrested John Ewa, an Abuja-based millionaire who flaunts money on social media and encourages his followers to “hustle.”

John Ewa, also called Lion, was arrested for alleged kidnapping by men of the Bayelsa State Police Command, the state he was accused of carrying out his nefarious activities.

The 36-year-old, who is also said to be from Bayelsa, was traced to Abuja from Bayelsa State.

It was learnt that the suspect, a former staff member of Sterling Bank, had been terrorising his state and was arrested after N70m was traced to his account.

The police said the suspect is among the rich and powerful in Abuja, adding that Lyon posed as a businessman by the day and was a kidnapper by the night.

In a video that went viral, the suspect said that he graduated from the University of Calabar, asking for mercy because his wife just had a baby. He confessed to two kidnap operations.

A police source said his day of reckoning came after he kidnapped one Danjuma.

He said, “He was involved in the kidnap of Danjuma, and he demanded N50m. He has confessed to the crime. Over N70n was found in his bank account.”
