Police arrest bus driver, sixty-one year old man with 1,124 cartridges

The Delta State Police Command’s Safe Tactical Squad on stop and search duty have arrested a Toyota Hiace bus driver, Innocent Uboh, at the Onitsha head-bridge in Asaba for the possession of live cartridges.

The driver, who is a native of Ogume in Ndokwa West Local Government was the only occupant driving the bus with registration no FGG 645 ZV.

Upon a thorough search, the Police recovered one thousand, one hundred and twenty-four (1124) rounds of live cartridges, twenty (20) bottles of codeine, and other illicit drugs from the vehicle.

The Delta State Police Command led by CP Ari Muhammed Ali confirmed the report in a statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bright Edafe.

He said, “The suspect claimed that the cartridges belonged to a man named Monday Adibeli ‘m’ 61yrs in Ogume.

“On the strength of this information, Operatives were deployed to Ogume where the alleged owner of the cartridges was arrested.”
