Police to begin recruitment screening for 50,000 constables March 9

The Police Service Commission (PSC), in collaboration with the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), will commence physical and credential screening for applicants in the ongoing recruitment of 50,000 police constables from March 9.
The force made the announcement in a statement issued on Thursday by Grace Iringe-Koko, spokesperson of the Rivers state police command.
According to the statement, the screening exercise will run until April 18, at the Alfred Diete-Spiff Civic Centre, Moscow road, Port Harcourt.
Applicants who completed the online recruitment registration are required to log in to the official recruitment portal to check their application status and print the necessary documents ahead of the screening.
The police said candidates are expected to present several documents at the venue, including their invitation slip, credential screening form, National Identity Number (NIN) printout or national identity card issued by the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC), O’level certificate, birth certificate or declaration of age, and local government or state of origin certificate.
Other required documents include a duly completed guarantors’ form with photocopies of referees’ valid identification and passport photographs, as well as original and duplicate copies of all credentials arranged in two separate white flat files.
Specialist applicants are also required to present relevant trade test certificates.
Applicants are expected to appear at the screening venue dressed in white canvas shoes, white t-shirts and white shorts.
Olugbenga Adepoju, Rivers commissioner of police, wished the shortlisted candidates success in the screening exercise and assured the public that all statutory entry requirements contained in the police act and regulations would be strictly followed.
Adepoju also urged applicants to conduct themselves in an orderly manner and avoid acts capable of undermining the process. He noted that the recruitment exercise is free of charge.
