Reps pull out presidential yacht’s N5bn, reallocate it to student loan

The House of Representatives has removed the N5bn presidential yacht from the 2023 supplementary budget.

The chairperson of the House Committee on Appropriation, Abubakar Bichi (APC, Kano) announced this on Thursday after the passage of the N2.17 trillion supplementary budget by the House.

Speaking to reporters, Bichi stated that the committee had eliminated the item and transferred the funds to the student loan division, totalling N10bn.

Recall that one of the president’s media aide had said Tinubu didn’t want the yacht and that it was for the Navy.
