Robbers raid Oyo community, use PoS to transfer money

Some men of the underworld on Saturday invaded Eleshin in Olomo community in Apete, Ido Local Government Area of Oyo State.

The robbers were said to have  operated with Point-of-Sale device.

The PUNCH reports that the robbers stormed the area around 1am and used the POS device to transfer money from their victims.

The incident was said to have thrown the community into panic.

One of the residents, who did not want his name in print, said, “The armed robbers got to our area around 1am. They operated freely and came with POS machine. They transferred money from some residents, which cannot be specified at the moment.

They used the PoS to transfer money from one of their victims’ accounts and also used the PoS to move money from his wife’s account.

“They also went away with two phones, iPhone 11 Pro Max and XS Max.”

The case was said to have been reported at the Apete Divisional Police Command.

As of press time, on Sunday, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Adewale Osifeso, could not be reached for confirmation.
