SaharaReporters’ boss steps down as AAC chair, becomes presidential candidate

Omoyele Sowore, the Publisher of SaharaReporters, has been elected as the presidential candidate of the African Action Congress.

Before his election on Thursday, Sowore stepped down as the national chairman of the AAC at the party’s the presidential primary.

Sowore said the constitution of the party does not allow him to be the chairman while contesting for its presidential ticket.

Immediately he stepped down as the national chairman, he presented himself as the party’s presidential aspirant and the delegates voted him in by shouting “aye!”

Sowore, who commended the party membership, said he had what it takes to lead the country to a better place having led ground-shaking protests and other events in Nigeria.

According to him, “through the RevolutionNow and the Endsars protest,” which he claimed to have started, “I have been able to rattle the government.”

He said, “Other parties elected thieves as their prepaid their candidates, ours is different. We are young people who are digital-oriented.”
