‎Colombian pop icon, Shakira, and Nigerian Grammy-winning Afrobeat star, Burna Boy, are set to headline the official soundtrack of the 2026 FIFA World Cup with a new song titled “Dai Dai”, scheduled for release on May 14.

‎FIFA confirmed the selection of ‘Dia Dia’ as the official song for the global tournament, which will be jointly hosted by Canada, Mexico, and the United States from June 11 to July 19.

‎Shakira offered fans a first glimpse of the collaboration, unveiling a minute-long clip featuring her and Burna Boy on X, sparking excitement across social media platforms.

‎In the teaser video, Shakira is seen on the pitch of Brazil’s iconic Maracana Stadium in Rio de Janeiro, holding the “Trionda”, the official World Cup match ball, as she sings a verse in English while Burna Boy harmonises alongside her.

‎‎The visual was further elevated by a group of dancers dressed in the colours of participating national teams, adding a vibrant global flavour to the production.

‎The short clip, also shared by the FIFA World Cup account, concluded with a dramatic aerial shot of the stadium as fireworks lit up the sky, accompanied by the message: “We are ready.”

‎Shakira is no stranger to World Cup songs, having delivered the globally acclaimed “Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)” for the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa.

‎Released in May 2010 and featuring South African band Freshlyground, the song became one of the most successful World Cup anthems in history, cementing Shakira’s legacy in football music culture.

‎Meanwhile, anticipation continues to build for the 2026 tournament, which will kick off on June 11 with Mexico facing South Africa at the historic Azteca Stadium in Mexico City.
