Recall that there had been reports that a truck driver was shot in Itori, Ewekoro Local Government Area on Monday.

The reports further stated that the driver was shot by policemen and that the victim died.

Oyeyemi said, “The command, for clarification purpose wishes to state that the perpetrators of the dastardly act, though they are security operatives, are not policemen, and that the victim, contrary to what is being reported is alive and receiving treatment in a hospital.

“Commissioner of Police Lanre Bankole has visited the victim in the hospital and he has vowed to do everything possible to bring the perpetrators to book because the action is a flagrant display of impunity which has no place in our laws.”

The PPRO added that the command was on the trail of the security operatives who shot the victim, saying their identity would be revealed soon.
