The Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado on Monday asked the wife of President Bola Tinubu, Oluremi, to tell her husband that Nigerians “are facing difficulties due to the high cost of living.”

The traditional ruler made the request when he hosted the First Lady who paid him a courtesy visit in his palace.

The Emir added, “Although we have several means of communicating to him on our needs and requests, yours is certainly a sure way to the President”.

The monarch whose speech was translated from Hausa to English language by a senior palace counsellor added, “I want to admit that you inherited this situation, but the horrific decline in standard of living under your administration is alarming and deserves urgent attention”.

The Kano emir similarly took a swipe over the relocation of key parastatals out of the Federal Capital Territory to the President’s home state, Lagos.

“We are indeed suspicious on why Mr. President singlehandedly relocated key departments of CBN, and outright relocation of FAAN to Lagos”.

“We are receiving a series of messages from my subjects, and most of them expressed concern over relocation of CBN and FAAN to Lagos.”

He admonished the Federal Government to “come out clean on this matter and talk to Nigerians in the languages they would understand”.

The Emir added, “The issue of Insecurity is another serious problem confronting us as a people, and of course, I know your government inherited it, but something more seriously should be done to take care of the threats”.

Bayero commended Mrs Tinubu for her care for the wellbeing of the Nigerian children and advised on the need to actualize her pet Program under the Renewed Hope Agenda to accommodate the underprivileged in society.

Bayero also asked Mrs Tinubu to look at the issue of Girl Child Education and see to it that the Girl Child is better of.

The First Lady, who was in Kano to inaugurate the Law Shool Building named after her at the Maryam Abacha American University of Nigeria, also paid a courtesy visit Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf at the Government House, Kano
