Nigeria’s President, Muhammadu Buhari, has summoned an emergency security meeting scheduled for Monday.

According to a statement by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media & Publicity, Garba Shehu, the meeting is to review and strengthen security network in the country.

Recall that the United States had raised the alarm over imminent terror attack on Abuja, advising its citizens to leave the nation’s capital.

Other counties like United Kingdom, Canada, Germany and Australia had similarly raised the alarm, advising their citizens to be on high alert.

The President and service chiefs had, however, assured Nigerians and others of safety in Abuja.

But Buhari’s SSA, said the President had rescheduled an earlier event in order to attend the emergency security meeting.

The statement reads, “President Muhammadu Buhari will on Monday meet with security chiefs in the nation’s capital, Abuja, to further review and strengthen security network in the country.

“The President, who was initially scheduled to commission the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (Naseni) new Technology and Innovation Complex, will receive briefs from the security chiefs, and interject on areas that need more attention.

The commissioning of the NASENI complex will hold on a later date.”
