Tinubu hasn’t replaced Gbajabiamila as chief of staff – Presidency

Gbajabiamila and Tinubu
The presidency has dismissed claims that President Bola Tinubu has replaced Femi Gbajabiamila, his chief of staff (CoS), with Hakeem Muri-Okunola, his principal private secretary.
There have been reports online claiming that Tinubu has sacked Gbajabiamila and replaced him with Muri-Okunola.
However, in a statement on Wednesday, Bayo Onanuga, special adviser to the president on information and strategy, said there is “absolutely no truth” in the reports circulating on social media.
Onanuga said Gbajabiamila remains the chief of staff to the president, while Muri-Okunola continues to serve as the principal private secretary.
“The Chief of Staff remains in his position. The Principal Private Secretary likewise remains in his role. Hakeem Muri-Okunola has not replaced Femi Gbajabiamila as Chief of Staff,” the statement reads.
“The viral claim is a fabrication by mischievous purveyors of fake news whose sole aim is to create disharmony within the government.”
The presidential spokesperson described the claim as a fabrication by “mischievous purveyors of fake news” aimed at creating disharmony within the government.
He advised Nigerians to disregard the report and urged media organisations to always verify information before publishing or sharing it on social media.
