Trump releases CCTV footage of suspect in shooting scare at White House dinner

President Donald Trump has shared CCTV footage showing the suspect involved in the shooting incident at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner in Washington, D.C.
The footage shows the suspect running into the ballroom of the Washington Hilton, bypassing security metal detectors as armed agents moved to intercept him.
Trump also shared images appearing to show a shirtless man lying face down in the foyer with his hands restrained behind his back, believed to be the suspected gunman.
Trump said the individual was heavily armed and had breached a key security checkpoint before being stopped.
BBC reports that the president stated that the suspect “charged past a security checkpoint” carrying multiple weapons.
He added that one law enforcement officer was shot during the incident but survived due to wearing a bulletproof vest.
The shooting occurred on Saturday night during the high-profile White House Correspondents’ Dinner, triggering panic and forcing the evacuation of top government officials, journalists, and guests.
Authorities have since confirmed that the suspect is in custody, while investigations into the motive and circumstances surrounding the breach are ongoing.
