The Minister of Works, Dave Umahi, has said the 700-kilometre Lagos-Calabar Coastal Expressway will be finished within a timeframe of eight years.

He emphasised that the project would be completed under the administration of President Bola Tinubu.

Umahi spoke on a channels TV programme, One-on-One with Minister.

He said, “This road is passing from Lagos through nine coastal states down to Cross River, and this is phase one. The phase two is African Trans Sahara route from Ogoja to Cameroun. The phase two is to link up with Sokoto Road … the entire country is to be tied together under this super highway. It is the first of its kind in Africa.”

The Lagos-Calabar Coastal Expressway, a monumental project aimed at enhancing connectivity and economic development across the nation, is set to become a vital artery linking regions from the bustling commercial hub of Lagos to the serene coastal landscapes of Calabar in Cross River State.
