Presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi and the vice presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Ifeanyi Okowa, clashed on Sunday evening during a Town Hall Meeting organized by Arise TV.
The Town Hall is first in the series that would be organised by Arise TV and Center for Democracy and Development, CDD to discuss security and economy.
Obi while answering a question had blamed politicians in the PDP and APC for being responsible for the present situation of Nigeria.
But Okowa who was representing Atiku Abubakar, the PDP presdential candidate, in his response lambasted Obi’s claims saying that the Labour Party party candidate cannot claim to be strange to the PDP having left the party just months earlier.
He also reminded Obi that as running mate to Atiku in 2019 and up until May 2022, he had paid glowing tributes to the PDP candidate and therefore cannot claim to be strange to the past.
Addressing Rabiu Kwankwaso, the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) presidential candidate, Okowa also reminded him he was until recently a chieftain of the PDP and also contributed to the destruction that he claimed happened to Nigeria under the party.
