Popular Singer Market in Kano gutted by fire
An early morning fire has gutted the popular Kano Singer Market (Kasuwar Singer).
Singer Market is believed to be the largest market in the North where essential commodities like sugar, rice, millet detergent and other consumable products are sold.
As of 11am on Tuesday, no fewer than five fire fighting vehicles were deployed to control the fire so as to prevent it from spreading to other shops within the market.
No one seems to know the cause of the inferno.
The Public Relations Officer of the Kano State Fire Service, Saminu Abdullahi, could not be reached on the telephone.
