Nine arrested for alleged burglary in Kano

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Kumbotso divisional office, has arrested nine suspected burglars who had perfected plans to burgle and steal from a polythene products company situated at Challawa industrial area.

A statement on Tuesday by the Public Relations Officer of the NSCDC state command, Ibrahim Abdullahi, said that the suspects were apprehended following a swift response to a distressed call by unguwar Fulani residents, Kumbotso LGA.

He listed the suspects as Abba Nasiru Adamu, 23, Ibrahim Adamu, 22, Hassan Sulaiman, 30, Basiru Aliyu, 25 and Hashimu Ibrahim, 49.

Others are Umar Hudu Hassan, 27, Shamsu Haruna, 37, Ibrahim Abubakar, 39 as well as Mudassir Hassan Dahiru, 27.

“The suspected criminals are from the Kurna, Dotsa and Brigade areas of Kano State. However, one Nasiru Haladu, the prime suspect who is a staff of a polythene company is at large and a serious manhunt has been launched by the Corps to apprehend him,” Abdullahi said.

He said the suspects who were 10 in number, stormed the area in a Toyota Corolla E with number plate ABC 396 LX with a view to burgle and the company’s goods.

“However, luck ran out of them and with the assistance of the community, as well as the personnel of the Corps they were apprehended.

“The suspects have confessed to the crime and upon completion of investigation by the Corps intelligence and investigation department, they will all be charged to court.

“The vehicle arranged to convey the stolen products, has been burnt to ashes by the irate youth of the area,” he said.
