Flood swept away two persons – Abuja estate resident
The Monday morning’s downpour, which led to flooding at the Trademore Estate in Lugbe, Abuja, might have caused the death of no fewer than two persons in the estate.
Many civil servants live in the estate, which is said to be prone to flooding.
A resident of the area in a viral video called on the Federal Government and the Federal Capital Territory FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, for help.
She said two people had been swept away by the flood.
However, the incident has not been confirmed by the administration.
Recall that the FCT Administration had in 2022 made attempts to demolish parts of the estate said to be on a flood plain, but a court case instituted by residents against it halted the exercise.
