Officials unresponsive as fire guts Katsina State Government House

The Katsina State Government House in Katsina was gutted by fire early Monday morning.

A resident whose house is close to the Government House, Alhaji Bashir, said the fire started around 6am.

He said, “I saw a fire service truck rushing in. I was in my house as early as 6 am after prayers, a fire service truck rushed into the Government House, and I later learnt there was fire in the red chamber where Governor Dikko used to host guests”.

The state governmrnt had yet to respond to the incident.

Efforts to speak with the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Ibrahim Mohammed, was unsuccessful as did not pick up his call and yet to call back.
