Train crushes 50-year-old man to death in Lagos
A train has crushed a 50-year-old man identified as Emmanuel to death in the Oshodi area of Lagos.
The incident happened on Saturday near Arena Shopping Mall.
The deceased’s sister was said to have informed the police that she was called on the telephone around 9 am, adding that the caller told her that her older brother had been fatally struck by a moving train.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Lagos State Command, Benjamin Hundeyin, in a statement, said the Mosafejo Division of the command was notified of the incident around 1.33pm, adding that the police dispatched a team of detectives to the scene.
“The scene was visited and photographed by a team of detectives. The corpse was evacuated to a public morgue for autopsy,” the Lagos police spokesman added.
Hundeyin further confirmed that the case had been transferred to the Railway Police Command in Ebute Metta for further investigation.
