The burial of former President Muhammadu Buhari has been rescheduled for Tuesday, July 15 instead of the earlier date of Monday.

His body is expected to arrive in Katsina State by midday on Tuesday, ahead of his burial scheduled for 2pm the same day in Daura, Katsina State.

Katsina Governor Dikko Umaru Radda made the announcement during a media briefing on Monday in Katsina, following discussions with Buhari’s family and close associates in London, where the former president died.

The governor said the burial will follow Islamic rites.

“We also condole with His Excellency, the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Bola Ahmed Tinubu, over the passing of his predecessor. May Allah give us the strength to bear this great loss.”

Radda added that the burial arrangements are being coordinated by the state government, federal authorities, and the Buhari family to ensure a dignified and solemn farewell to the late leader.

Though details of the illness were not made public, the former president was believed to be recuperating until his condition took a turn.
