Two arrested in Kebbi for allegedly defiling minors

The Kebbi State Police Command has arrested two men for alleged defilement.
According to the state Police Public Relations Officer, Nafiu Abubakar, one of the suspects was arrested after he allegedly defiled a 10-year-old girl in August 27, in Bedi, Zuru Local Government Area of Kebbi State.
The police spokesman explained that the victim was sent in an errand by her mother.
“While on her way, one Amos Jondo Maliki of the same area lured her into his room and had illegal sexual intercourse with her.”
He further stated that on the 6th September, 2025, one five years old Nana, of Goribbu area in Birnin Kebbi, went to the shop of one Mansuru Sani aged 48, of the same address, to buy sweet.
“In the process, the said Mansuru Sani waylaid her into his shop and inserted his finger into her private parts.
“Upon completion of a discreet investigation by a team of detectives at the state Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Birnin Kebbi, both the two suspects have been arraigned in court,” the PPRO said.
The Commissioner of Police, Kebbi State Command, CP Bello Sani, condemned the incidents in strong terms and reassured the residents of the Command’s unwavering determination to protecting the most vulnerable members of the society while promising that justice will be pursued in due course.
The CP urged the parents to monitor the movement of their children and not hesitate to report the gender-based violence cases to the nearest police station for prompt response.
