Enforce law with integrity and patriotism, IGP tells 10,000 new constables

About 10,000 police recruits who successfully completed intensive training at various Police Training Colleges nationwide have been released into the files of the Nigeria Police Force.
The new constables were welcomed into the NPF on September 7, 2025, in simultaneous ceremonies across the nation.
In his address to the new officers, the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, urged the new policemen and women to uphold the principles of honour, diligence, and patriotism in discharging their duties.
“Your training has prepared you not just to enforce the law but to serve with integrity. Carry with you the torch of professionalism wherever you go,” the IGP said.
He explained that the recruits were trained in modern policing strategies including intelligence gathering, human rights protection, and community engagement.
Egbetokun noted that the exercise was part of the Force’s broader strategic manpower development plan, which seeks to improve visibility policing, quick response, and crime prevention across the federation.
The Police Chief assured Nigerians that the Force remains committed to continuous training and welfare improvement to enhance professionalism and public confidence in law enforcement.
