Angry driver kills five persons after he was accused of reckless driving

A New Year party ended tragically on Sunday after a man drove headlong into the party, killing five persons with four others critically injured.
The incident occurred in Akinmori in the Afijio Local Government Area of Oyo State during the New Year party organised by a group of friends.
It was gathered that the killer-driver, who is also one of the organisers, got angry after he was tongue lashed by his friends for driving recklessly into the venue of the party.
Witnesses said the reproach did not go down well with the driver and he walked out on his friends and entered his car with annoyance.
A source added, “The young man angrily entered and started his car, revved it and rammed into people dancing, knocking down over 10 people.”
The source added that while the driver escaped, three of his friends had been arrested.
The Oyo State Police Public Relations Officer, Adewale Osifeso, confirmed the incident, say-ing, “Investigation has commenced into the matter. Updates would be provided accordingly, please.”
