FCMB founder to be buried July 8 in Ijebu Ode hometown

The family of late Otunba Subomi Balogun, the founder of First City Monument Bank Group, has released the details of his burial.

The Olori Omo Oba of Ijebu land, Ogun State, died on May 18, 2023. in London, United Kingdom.

Balogun died at the age of 89

According to the burial programme, a Night of Tributes will be held for him on July 4, 2023, at 4pm at Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos.

A Service of Songs has been scheduled for July 5, 2023 at 3.30 pm, with Christian Wake at 5pm, both at Harbour Point, Victoria Island, Lagos.

His remains will lie in state on July 6, 2023 from 7am to 8am at 1, Milverton Road, Ikoyi, Lagos.

A commendation service will hold same day at 9:30am at Cathedral Church of Christ, Marina, Lagos.

There will be a lying-in-state in his hometown in Ijebu Ode from 4pm to 5:30pm still on July 6, 2023, there.

The lying in state continues on July 7, 2023 from 10am to 1pm at Otunba Tunwase Court in Ijebu Ode.

At 3.30pm, the Ijebu Ode chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria will hold a service of songs at Otunba Tunwase Court for Balogun, who is the Asiwaju of Ijebu Ode Christians.

A wake will be held at the same venue at 4.30pm.

The funeral service on July 8, 2023 at Cathedral Church of Our Saviour in Ijebu Ode will begin at 10am.

A private family interment will hold at 1pm, followed by a reception of guests at 1.30pm.
