Return N36.6m to your American victim, court tells convict

A Federal High Court sitting in Kaduna State on Thursday ordered a convicted Internet fraudster, Livinus Imoesi-Oshioke, to refund the N36.6m which he stole from his United States of America-based victim.

Justice Mohammed Umar, who pronounced Imoesi-Oshioke guilty, also sentenced him to six months’ imprisonment.

Imoesi-Oshioke was arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on crimes bordering on fraud.

In a statement signed by the EFCC’s Head, Media and Publicity Wilson Uwujaren, Oshioke was convicted on Thursday, May 26, 2022.

Uwujaren said, “Imoesi-Oshioke was jailed on Thursday, May 26, 2022, after pleading guilty to amended three counts bordering on cybercrime. He is also expected to refund the sum of N36.6m to his American victim.”
