S’Court ruling: Kano residents flood streets as Yusuf returns to state capital 

A mammoth crowd of supporters of the New Nigeria People’s Party on Sunday welcomed Governor Abba Yusuf back to Kano, after Friday’s judgement of the Supreme Court which affirmed his election.

The governor was at the Supreme Court in Abuja with many of his party supporters to witness the Apex Court’s judgement.

The Supreme Court upheld Yusuf’s election, having set aside the verdicts of the Court of Appeal and the election petitions tribunal which earlier sacked him.

The governor was received by the crowd at Kwanar Dangora amid singing and dancing, having passed through some major towns in the neighbouring Kaduna State, acknowledging cheers from the people there.

His convoy is expected to drive straight to Filin Mahaha in Kano metropolis where he will address the people later in the day
