Suspected kidnappers abduct man, woman returning from vigil

A man and a woman were reportedly abducted along Osogbo-Iragbiji road in Osun State by some gunmen on Saturday.

It was gathered that the victims were returning from a vigil around 4am when the incident happened.

The man and the woman, suspected to be his wife, were reportedly riding on a motorcycle when they ran into an ambush mounted by the kidnappers

The Osun State Police Command spokesperson, Mrs. Yemisi Opalola, confirmed the incident, saying the case had been reported to the police and promised the command would fish out the perpetrators of the act.

She said, “The case was reported and we are working very hard to rescue the couple. Operatives are combing the bush in the area and we want to assure the public that the victims will be rescued and the perpetrators of the crime will not escape justice.”
