The Lagos State commissioner of Police, Idowu Owohunwa, has ordered the removal of CSP Amusa Ismail, the Divisional Police Officer in the Olosan division in the Mushin area of the state.

Amusa was removed over professional misconduct by some policemen in the division.

Owohunwa also directed that all the policemen involved in the act be identified, arrested, and be made to face disciplinary actions.

The Police Public Relations Officer SP Benjamin Hundeyin stated this on his Twitter handle on Tuesday.

It was said that a married woman rejected the love advances by one Bebex in the Papa Ajao area of Mushin,

However, one of Bebex boys reportedly slapped her for refusing his randy boss’ love advances.

The woman subsequently reported the matter at the station. She also made a video, calling for human rights activists to assist her in fighting for justice since Bebex is influential.

The Investigating Police Officer was said to have collected N5,000 from the woman before making arrest.

The IPO reportedly released the suspect without any investigation, while she was asked to apologise to him.

She was also forced to do a video at the police station to retract the first video.

The video was recorded by the Bebex’s aide, who slapped the woman, allegedly in the presence of the Station Officer

Hundeyin tweet reads, “Due to multifarious interests in this matter and the need to ensure justice, CP Idowu Owohunwa personally interviewed all parties in this case – community members, landlord association, councillor representing the area, the committee for the Defence of Human Rights, (the lady) and family, Bebex and his employees –  and lawyers representing both sides are in attendance.

“It is elating and morale-boosting that we now have a willing complainant and as a result, a tenable case to present in court.

“CP Idowu Owohunwa, having carefully listened to all parties, has established that there are indeed cases to answer and has therefore directed that the matter be charged to court immediately.

“The CP also identified professional misconduct on the part of some of the police officers involved in the case. For this, the Command Provost has been directed to immediately commence disciplinary action against the officers concerned.

“And finally, the Divisional Police Officer, Mushin, in whose division all the officers aforementioned are serving, has been relieved of his posting with immediate effect.”

Bebex was said to have been detained and would be charged to court by the Gender Department of the command.
